Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy used to treat various musculoskeletal conditions.

Osteopathy involves techniques such as soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, manipulation and muscle activation to help restore the body to pre-injury movement and function.

What to expect at an osteo appointment

An osteo treatment involves a thorough case history and assessment. Treatment is dependent on the individual and the presenting complaint.

Treatment can include techniques such as soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, manipulation, muscle activation, dry needling and myofascial cupping.

What is myofascial cupping?

Myofascial cupping is an ancient Chinese therapy which has been used as an alternative therapy for musculoskeletal conditions for many years. It involves applying glass or plastic cups to the skin to create a vacuum effect which draws blood to the affected tissues (muscle & fascia). This then initiates the inflammatory response which helps to restore function to the injured/ affected tissue and speed up healing time.
